Owen Suter III, has carefully thought out details in design with the same attention to fine proportions, and the same gracious approach to living, that are characteristic of any fine antiques. With being in such a close proximity to so many significant historical properties including Colonial Williamsburg, Monticello, and Mount Vernon, the influence from history has had a tremendous influence on all of our reproduction furnishings.

Skilled Craftsmanship is apparent in every detail of our bench made furniture. Some of the most important details of construction, which add greatly to their value and authenticity, are not visible. These hidden details in construction of each piece can only be reproduced by skilled hands in the same manner as the originals were made.

The construction features of our furniture include dovetail drawers front and back, center drawer runners and additional glue block for added strength. Dovetailed rails of solid wood are used between all drawers to stand up to the test of time. We also use mortise and tenon joinery as well as additional pegs to add to durability in all of our furniture. All glass used in the pieces are individually hand set for added quality. We also offer the option of hand beaded drawer fronts. These drawers take much more skill to construct than a lip drawer because the fittings have to be perfect.

Our exquisite Bed Posts are constructed of one solid piece of wood that is skillfully hand turned on a lathe. Each bed post is cross bolted for ease of assembly. Our headboards are finished on both sides so that you can flip the headboard as time makes its mark and have the look of a brand new headboard. The beautiful carvings on the bed posts are still created by hand using chisels.
